KLLM Driving Academies across the country offer a 22-day Class-A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) Course (18 days for permit holders) where you earn your permit and Class-A CDL through classroom instruction and on-the-road training. You learn and train on the exact equipment you’ll be using upon upgrading to your own truck as a professional truck driver with KLLM.
Prepares you to earn your Class-A permit. Includes sessions in our tractor-simulator lab, refrigerated-trailer lab, and computer lab. Instructors help you every step of the way as you prepare to test and pass your permit test.
This part of the course puts you behind the wheel as you gain 12 days of experience on the KLLM truck driving range, as well as on-the-road driver training. This is where the rubber meets the road and you begin to learn the craft of being a professional truck driver.
After graduating from the 22-day KLLM Driving Academy Class-A CDL course and earning your Class-A CDL, you then go out for 240 hours in total with a KLLM certified trainer—while earning weekly paychecks while on the truck with your trainer.
After the 240 hours of training with a KLLM certified trainer, you then take an upgrade test. Upon passing it, you then have an opportunity to gain employment as a professional truck driver with KLLM.
