Safety Compliance Manager

Job Responsibilities:

This position will perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to the following:

  • Monitor and audit DOT driver qualification files to ensure files meet regulation requirements.
  • Oversee and Manage employees in the compliance department
  • Monitor MVRs and ensure driver CDLs and Medical Cards are valid and certified
  • Oversee and manage all drug and alcohol screens, including the DOT random list each quarter
  • Work directly with various vendors and third-party companies
  • Process driver citations, warnings, and DOT inspections
  • Counsel drivers and document any safety or DOT compliance-related matters: accidents, citations, DOT inspection violations, unsafe road observations as well as company policy violations
  • Dash Camera Video review and counseling
  • Issue safety points when disciplinary action is taken
  • Assign remedial and Quarterly training to drivers
  • Conduct safety portion of driver orientation
  • Run reports to monitor CSA scores and obtain the DOT inspections from drivers
  • OSHA Recordkeeping and reporting
  • Complete special assigned tasks upon request
  • Team player who can collaborate with colleagues
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Vice President of Safety
  • Participate in On-Call After hours claims response one week per quarter

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of 3 years in the transportation safety field
  • Effectively manage multiple direct report members of the compliance team
  • Good Computer skills (Excel and AS400 experience a plus)
  • Familiarity with FMCSA and OSHA regulations is a plus
  • Possess a high level of organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly to changes
  • Ability to have patience and professionalism under demanding circumstances
  • Works well independently and in a team-based environment
  • Desire and ability to self-educate on industry standards and make recommendations
  • Highly dependable
